Passionate about education, Dr. Shi has over 30 years of teaching experience. She has not only maintained a private studio, but also taught at CSU- Dominguez Hill, Cerritos College, Long Beach City College. ,and Irvine Valley College over the years.

Her students ranges from 5-year-old to senior citizens.

Many of her students have been admitted as piano and music majors into universities like UCLA, USC, UCSB, CSU-Long Beach, and CSU-Fullerton. Dr. Shi regularly has students won local and national piano competitions, including Pacific Star International Piano Competition, Barum International Competition, SYMF Young Artist division, MTAC State Solo and Concerto competitions, Fullerton Ensemble Festival, Southern California Junior Bach Festival, Concordia Music Competition. ​
